This is a little about Katie and we wish her the best of luck with the rest of the course and we are looking forward to seeing more of her illustrations in the coming weeks and months!
I have for many years now been fascinated by the world of children’s literature, particularly illustration. I’m a dedicated follower of Oliver Jeffers, Jessica Courtney-Tickle and Karl James Mountford to name a few.
Ultimately my dream job would be to work as a freelance illustrator, specialising in children’s illustration. My life goal, is to write and illustrate my own children’s book and see it on the shelves in the children’s section of my local bookstore.
But before any of that can happen I need to learn the fundamentals of illustrating for children, I need to practice, a lot, and perhaps most importantly I need to hone my style and nurture my self-confidence.
