I’m a former student of the Children’s Book Illustration course, graduating with Distinction. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the tuition with Maggy Roberts was first class, she was very positive and constructive and I always looked forward to seeing what she would write about each piece I had created.
I absolutely loved the process of creating every single piece of art for the course, and having the opportunity to use my imagination in a creative way. For most of my paintings I used Watercolours and Ink and for some of them I used Acrylic paints.
This painting of the mouse keeping warm and cosy in front of the fire was created with watercolour and ink. I really enjoyed deciding on the composition, and wanted to convey the cosy feeling of the mouse relaxing and being very chilled in his new home.
I cannot say enough about how rewarding the course was and how it helped me to get back into my passion of painting
