Weekend Art Challenge Results – Still Life

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task in painting or drawing still life. Our aim for our students this week was for them to try to keep things as simple as possible. The more objects within the scene, the more complicated and time consuming the artwork gets. Only choosing a few items, which could be absolutely anything, helps to focus the eye on what’s important within the scene.

Flowers, plants and fruit feature heavily for our students, and each drawing and painting below are completely unique and wonderful. Big shout out to Hayley and Judith who have submitted their first challenges this week!

We hope you have enjoyed this challenge. As per usual another challenge will be posted on the blog tomorrow! Stay tuned!

I used a reference photo for this still life, I like the shapes leaves make and it had loose  drapes behind the objects which I used to unify the composition although maybe a little too strong on the left.
