Weekend Art Challenge – Rabbits & Hares

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge! We’re thrilled to share the incredible results where our students unleashed their creativity through the depiction of hares and rabbits. This enchanting theme allowed our students to create a diverse array of beautiful pieces which you can see below.

Firstly to our feature image this week, by student Marianne Goslett, who created a beautiful side on rabbit in coloured pencil. Well done Marianne!

In addition, we’d like to give a special mention to Serafine Christine for her remarkable creation using pastels, Derwent Inktense pencils, and fine liners. Serafine drew inspiration from the mesmerising Cathedral of Paderborn, infusing her artwork with a unique blend of architectural beauty and the delicate nature of rabbits. Such an imaginative approach, we love it!

So, here is my picture of “The three Hares!“ inspired by a famous tracery window in the Cathedral of Paderborn in Westphalia and going a long with the old saying: ‘Three hares sharing three ears, yet everyone of them has two.‘ In German the sentence is a rhyme: ‘Der Hasen und der Löffel drei, und doch hat jeder Hase zwei.‘ 😉 The square picture is on pastel green cardboard, mainly drawn with pastels, Derwent inktense pencils, and fine liners.
