I am having an exhibition to show some of my recent work. The gallery is in Brecon (UK) and I will be showing about 20 pieces of landscape paintings based on Welsh places. Some close to home and some from Gower near Swansea.
This is very different to my illustration work, it’s personal in a different way as I’m not responding to a brief from anyone else as always happens in illustration. In this work I love to combine glimpses of landscapes that I pass, adding the field patterns that show the hand of man on the landscape.
I love colour and enjoy layering them to produce textural effects.I show work fairly regularly in local venues but this is the largest show that I have been involved with lately. There have been few opportunities during Covid but this feels like a move towards some sort of normality.
