‘The first tree in the Greenwood.. it was the holly’
How can you have Christmas without holly?
Holly has been associated with Christmas since medieval times.
It represents so much:
- Evergreen – being always present
- Berries – a source of food (although not for humans!)
- Red – cheerful in the midst of winter
- Ivy – its close companion
I.e. all the things we wish for a Christmas together with family and friends.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year
Margaret
