Lucy Wheeler has created an illustration of a dog on a wall with a little bird. One great way of learning how to create illustrations of animals is to practice drawing fairly realistic animals and give them a character. You can imagine them moving, running, jumping and prancing, which Lucy has done in the line drawings below. With these preliminary practice drawings it enabled Lucy to create a fantastic character with the correct movement in her final illustration with the ‘dog and bird’ piece.
