Welcome to this weekends Water Lily Art Challenge! Water Lilies have to be one of the most graceful and beautiful plants to adorn our ponds and lakes. You only have to take a look at the many paintings Monet created in his lifetime (Claude Monet Water Lilies) to see how they captured his imagination and sparked his creativity. His paintings really are a sight to be seen if you have access to a gallery to see them.
We aren’t expecting you to re create a Monet…but we would love to see some waterlily paintings or drawings from you all. You can portray a single flower, a group of waterlilies with their lily pad leaves, or perhaps try to capture a waterlily and its reflection in the water. If you are feeling brave, painting or drawing a full pond of waterlilies could be a real challenge. The photos below are copyright free and you are more than welcome to use them.
Choose any medium – pastel, oil, acrylic, collage, mixed media, digital, coloured pencil or graphite. The choice is yours! Be bold and bright or light and delicate. We are very much looking forward to seeng your results! Let us know how you get on!
