These two circular paintings are of different areas of the village of Cruden Bay. Painting to this format immediately draws your eye into the picture and focuses on the main object of the painting. With square/ rectangular formats you always wonder what is going on beyond the limits of the painting, to the side, below etc but with a circle you concentrate on what is at the centre.
