Student Carolina Crespo Gutierrez is working with tutor Alan Dedman on the Oil Painting course. The three painting below were completed for her recent course assignments and we love them. The blue colour Carolina has used for the first flower painting below is the perfect choice. It really helps the background to recede and allows the green and orange colours on the plant to come forward and be in full focus.
The texture that Carolina is creating within her paintings is superb too. The scumbled light tones on the blue background of the second painting below is stunning and it really adds interest and texture to the piece. A limited pallet has been used here with the glass bottles and white flowers so it all pulls together beautifully.
