Weekend Art Challenge Results – One Colour!

Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating a painting or drawing using a single colour. It’s a lots tricker than you might think! We have received some amazing pieces from our students which we hope you enjoy viewing below.

Stay tuned for the next challenge coming tomorrow!

Weekend one colour challenge, cottage in paynes grey watercolour.
Vincent D
Elephant in Zambia. Pastel and charcoal.
Dinah B
I limited myself to only using the green pencils in my possession. That meant no mixing greens from other colour combinations and as a result was quite limiting but thoroughly enjoyable.
Heather K
Coloured Pencil
Serena G
My little frog with watercolour and some pastel pencils.
Ni Ni
This ink drawing is only 4 cm tall. (Payne’s Gray, my favorite.) The cat on the left was a lucky accident.
Linn
Happy New Year to all. I really enjoy the weekend challenges, especially as I have just finished the drawing and painting course.
Gina D
Lotus at Night (After Hiroshige)
Ozlem E
My cat Sandi is a grey and white cat. This is with watercolour. I only use Paynes Grey. I used white pen for highlights and whiskers.
Ni Ni
My submission for the weekend art challenge called “Snow scene in red”. It’s a step away from my comfort zone as it’s mixed media (acrylic, oil pastel and coloured pencil) and landscape.
Anthony S
Monochrome Challenge
Ozlem E
One colour; pastels Rosalind
