Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating paintings and drawings of waterfalls. Waterfalls are a fantastic subject to tackle as you have the opportunity of capturing the dynamic interplay between water, light, and landscape. Students can to explore movement and texture.
Our students have beautifully depicted not only the power of the waterfalls in their artwork but also the serene beauty through their paintings and drawings.
For those who haven’t yet participated in our challenge and are inspired to give it a go, painting or drawing a waterfall can be a rewarding experience. Wed love for you to give it a go. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different techniques, like using a wet-on-wet approach in watercolour to capture the softness of mist or layering different shades of blue and white to create the illusion of rushing water. The key is to immerse yourself in the scene and let your creativity flow.
Stay tuned for another challenge tomorrow….

I like Mariola’s waterfall but everyone had a nice painting.
I wish I could create loose and quick parts of drawings or paintings.I always think of and create a finished picture as per my education. I have seen so many inspirational pieces of artwork at LAC that jump out at you but are very minimalistic.
We are thrilled you love them all Ivana!
We are happy to know that you have been inspired by the artwork that we post here Ivana. Keep painting and drawing and experimenting, that’s the only way to improve. Oh and have fun in the process!
If I May…for LAC students…other than this great college you can learn a lot about drawing with pastel pencils and other similar mediums at Colin Bradley School of art.
Thank you for the recommendation for students Ivana, Colin Bradley is a very lovely chap!
