One of our lovely students, Trudy Bonnet, has completed a fantastic exercise for the Illustrating children’s books diploma course. She has illustrated a creepy poem called “When all is dark” and has come up with some great ideas. The poem is about a witch who flies in the night and casts spells on unsuspecting people. Trudy has used ink and wash to create a dark and spooky illustration that matches the tone of the poem.
Trudy has done a wonderful job with this exercise. The witch looks scary and dominates the top part of the illustration, while the rest of the scene is filled with details such as cats, broomsticks, ghosts, and tombstones. We love how she has captured the mood and atmosphere of the poem. She has shown great imagination and skill in creating a creepy illustration that suits the poem. She has used watercolour and ink effectively to create a dark and spooky effect. We are very impressed by Trudy’s work and we look forward to seeing more of her illustrations in the coming months!
