Weekend Art Challenge – Orcas

Welcome to this weekends art challenge results all about Orcas. Such a beautiful and majestic creature, we hope our students enjoyed painting and drawing them.

Our featured image this week is by Landscape Diploma student Norman Tharby. Norman’s acrylic painting is absolutely superb, the colours and textures are wonderful and we love his use of a limited pallet.

We also want to mention student Suba Lakshmi, who has painted a very colourful painting of a beautiful Orca in warmth and with plenty of sparkle.

We hope that everyone has enjoyed this weeks challenge, stay tuned for another one soon.

Sharing how I feel about my vacation. I am the whale that jumped out of day to day routine and enjoyed the sun and air for a few seconds before gravitating back to the ocean. Just wonder why are vacations get over so soon.

Something simple this time. I’ve used children’s paint for the killer whale. The waves of the ocean are metallic shaped spirals. I cut around the tail to give it a pop up effect.

I am busy getting ready for a 3 month stay in Spain. We take the car on the ferry and I often join the Orca Watch. The best view of orcas I got though, was early in the morning when the only people around were me and the cleaning crew. I did this quickly because I thought it went so well with the quote…
