I started the course with London Art College whilst I was working as a teacher and had two small children at home. The flexibility of the course was what at first appealed to me. I could take my time and not feel under any pressure. I loved the ideas it introduced me to and the challenges it set. The variety of tasks were great, and I could see my work improving and changing as the course went on. Maggy’s advice and feedback is always so helpful and positive. This kept me motivated and ready to take on the next task.
I went on to do the follow on course in children’s illustration. The courses gave me the confidence to put together a portfolio and I am now doing an MA in Illustration. I would never have considered this prior to completing the London Art College course. You can find me on Instagram @jabbarilayla
