For the exercise I used my own gerbil as a model. I thought it would be fun to make a tower of naughty gerbils working together as a team. Or are they? I used 4B pencil and watercolour.
For Fiery Fred I knew I wanted the reader to focus on the dragon character’s look of astonishment. First I brainstormed ideas for format and and how I wanted the dragon to look. Once I’d narrowed it down I used a 2B pencil to sketch out onto watercolour paper then I used watercolour, pencils, and ink. Fiery Fred makes my inner child smile.
