Welcome to this weeks results for our art challenge. Oh and yes … the theme was …Stars, Planets & Nebulas! We had some confusion at the beginning of the week as a few students thought that we were carrying on with the alphabet challenge. So we had some lovely pieces of artwork beginning with ‘B’. However, our alphabet challenge is monthly. So B will be in February. Please do feel free to post again when the B challenge is announced as we would love to add your artwork, really loved what we saw.
So today the results are all star related and are equally as fantastic! Our featured piece this week comes from student Dave Smedley and is called “Planets” which he created using spray acrylic on canvas board. You can see the full image at the bottom of the blog post.
All of the paintings below are absolutely superb, including Rachels very textured Moon and Shailaja’s Jupiter painting and Charlottes amazing canvas painting below too. We hope that all of our students who took part this week enjoyed this brilliant challenge and thank you to Maria Moon for the idea!

The background is a collage of different pictures from last year’s calendar, which luckily had a variety of different scenes from the solar system. I couldn’t resist a Doctor Who theme so I drew a tardis. Water colour pencils were used, so I first coloured in the hand drawn Tardis and used water to blend the colours into each other.
