Welcome to the results of the art challenge – Pink & Blue. Or Blue & Pink! To say this was a popular challenge is an understatement. We are blown away by the response. All we can say is take your time to look through the amazing pieces of artwork below. They are all so beautiful and diverse and we cant thank our stud enough for posting them on our Facebook group or emaling them to us, so we can gather them here. Our feature image today is by student Kate Amelia Haywood. Her delicate watercolour of a blue and pink floral wreath is stunning and we are sure you will all agree! This is my effort for The weekend challenge: Pink & Blue. I have a sari that is beautiful shades of pink and blue. I chose part of the design which is that of a bird. I used watercolour pencils. For the bird I’ve used watercolour pencils dry and for the background I’ve used water to give a slightly blurred affect. It took me a little longer than expected due to the amount of detail in the middle. Nina Phillips

I’ve had a digital play with one of my watercolour paintings of an Iris for this week’s challenge. I think it helps to bring out the blue hues in this beautiful flower which I photographed on a dismally grey rainy day, reminding me there is always beauty in nature, whatever the weather.
