Student Gayathri G is studying on our Illustration Diploma Course with tutor Steven Hersey. In one of the assignments on the course students are asked to design and redesign some logos. Gayathri created a number of stunning logo designs, including a redesign of the London Art College logo. We absolutely loved it and felt it was a must for our students and readers here to view. Gayathri explained her process below….
I tried a new logo for the London Art College. I took RGB (Red / Green / Blue) colours as the theme and the touch of the existing logo with art tools. I added swirls/strokes, brushes, painting tools, etc. which are the essential part of the logo of an art college. I also designed a logo to suit dark and bright background colours. The swirls represent the murals found in old sculptures to symbolise the proud heritage of the London Art College in art teaching from 1931.
