Jill Plunkett has recently and successfully completed the Pet Portraits Online Art Course. She gained her Diploma in Pet Portraits with us at the London Art College, by studying from home. Her tutor is the professional pet portraits artist and tutor Gayle Mason, who Jill had online access to at all times. As a result, Jill is now able to start drawing and painting dogs and cats for commission. She can enter exhibitions and galleries with much more experience and confidence than before.
The course is written and structured in such a way that it takes you through from brushing up your drawing skills, to introducing you to all of the different mediums. You get a chance to experience them with guidance to perhaps see which you like best. Consequently which works for you. Students then experiment and practice using different mediums painting animals eyes, noses, tongues, fur, feathers, backgrounds ect.
The final sections of the course allow you to be part of a live commission and Jill has created this painting using 3 different photos. Single photos of each of the dogs and a photo for the background. Jill has bough them all together beautifully using pastels.
Another aspect of the course is to practice creating promotional material. This can be from business cards, posters to a website etc. Promoting yourself as an artists is just as important as learning to paint and draw. Particularly if you would like to sell your work or accept commissions. Finally Jill created a poster / flyer of her work along with writing a about herself, to give to prospective clients. We wish Jill every success in her work and future commissions!
