Tutor Vanessa Weaver has sent us two pieces of wonderful artwork for our blog. The artwork has been completed by Ruth who is currently studying with Vanessa on the Graphic Design Art Diploma. Vanessa has commented on her pieces which you can read below.

…..”I love the quirky response to the brief to design a character for Equal Opportunities. Ruth really challenged herself to come up with a concept that would be unusual, avoiding clichés and aiming to inject humour. I think she has achieved this in creating a dynamic representation of Emmeline Pankhurst as a roller derby girl…..
The second piece is Ruth’s response to an illustration brief for a travel poster. This idea is based upon travel posters from the 1930s and captures the bold graphic style of this era.
